I followed the instructions on Gutsy RC1 upgrade instruction page (for Kubuntu RC1). After I opened adept manager, I chose File > Manage Repositories. After a few seconds wait, I got the message:

software-properties crashed. Plus the above traceback...

This was indeed the same bug. After I removed the offending keys (by
Trevino and Kossel), everything went well. Thanks for your reply.
