Bug Description

Sometimes when I'm trying to take a picture, after I click the shutter the first time, every button in the screen disappears, rendering the camera unusable. Then I need to reboot the phone to get the camera to a working state again.

My phone is a BQ Aquaris E4.5 with Ubuntu 15.04 (OTA-8)

Camera version 3.0.0.595

What you expected to happen: I expect to take pictures with the camera.

What happened instead: I can't take pictures.

Can you attach the log at .cache/upstart/application-click-com.ubuntu.camera_camera_<VERSION>.log

Do you use an SD card?
Any other clues as to wen it happens?

Hi Pat, it happens from time to time, I don't see a pattern by now.

I don't have in my phone the log for version 3.0.0.595 but I've just
installed the new camera-app (version 3.0.0.604) and playing with it I
have the same problem (log attached).

Yes, I'm using an SD Card.

The only clue I can think of is that I also have problems with Gallery
[*] because I can't delete photos.

Thank you for your work.

Can you try removing the SD card? It often happened in the past that a faulty SD card was present preventing the camera app from writing the photo properly and therefore hanging for a very long time.

Sure, I'll do some tests later (without the SD card and re-formating it
to see what happens again).

I've fsck'ed the SD card and is interesting that only says there's a
"share clusters" problem in /Picture/com.ubuntu.camera

I wonder if that's so because the camera-app has degenerated that
directory or a faulty SD card is really the culprit.

Hi Julia, after you asked I've been playing with the camera set to the SD card, taking pictures, and deleting them, and it seems it's working fine now.

The camera-app version is 3.0.0.652.

So I think you can close this bug now.

Thank you for your work.

Regards.
