Letters missing in most programs

With my Toshiba Satellite C650-16R letters are missing in most programs. I must restart to get my computer back.

At some point in previous versions I was thinking it might be caused by having little memory that makes something crash (I had 4GB and Firefox goes to creating Swap very fast if it is used for a while), but now I have 8 GB of memory and I see the bug. Must be some other cause but it is a very bad one.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.4 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".
