problem with plank and lightdm after nvidia driver update

I have plank 0.10.9.1445 on ubuntu 14.04 64bit - compiz

I am using numix theme.

The actual problem is that, today I got an update for nvidia-current from ubutu repo. After this update, whenever I want to shutdown or reset my laptop using the shortcut in the unity navbar, the lightdm will be restarted and puts me into login screen again.

If i pkill the plank, I will not have this problem. I guess it has something to do with this new nvidia update and/or lightdm

I have installed plank from the ppa

The graphic driver is just nvidia-current from ubuntu. but it got an update, I dont know the version (maybe 304?)

Strange enough, since I start plank using the ubuntu's autostart, if I add a delay to it, the problem will go away.

e.g in '~/.config/autostart/plank.deksop' I added the following line:

X-GNOME-Autostart-Delay=5
