Bug Description

I can't boot lubuntu live 15.10 desktop i386 on my laptop. Booting takes several hours. Computer is just stuck on loading screen with lubuntu logo and five dots under it (dots are moving)
I already tried boot with acpi=off, noapic, nolapic, edd=on, nomodeset, nodmraid
I checked checksum of the iso image and after burning a DVD disk i did verification against the iso image.

Hardware: HP compaq nw8240, Pentium M 740 1.73GHz Dothan (SSE2, PAE, NX bit), 2GB DDR2 ram, intel pro/wireless 2200BG, Trusted Platform Module, ATI mobility FireGL V5000 128MB, matsushita DVD writer (PATA), 250GB HDD (PATA), some BT adapter, broadcom bcm5751MKFB ETH NIC

Couple errors discovered during live boot of lubuntu 15.10:
adding live session user .... pwconv: failed to change the mode of /etc/passwd- to 0600
systemd[1]: failed to insert module `kdbus`....
failed to start load kernel modules.
(just for record, it took about 15 minutes of boot time to get to the above mentioned error)

This problem is present also on lubuntu xenial desktop build from 22-11-2015

removed info not related specifically to this bug.

adding information from our irc chat:
 * confirmed hash
 * succeeded media check
 * media was used in the past for successful booting images
 * forcepae did not help

suggestions at this point to help troubleshoot and confirm it can be replicated:
 * use different media, perhaps even a different media type
 * try other flavors of lubuntu (if it's in other flavors, it's a global ubuntu issue and doesn't affect lxde-common)

until that information is in, we'll call this incomplete.

Booting from USB drive works without any problem... that means this issue was caused by HW
