Binary package hint: evince

eveince on gutsy does not correctly read arabic pdf files. it does open it, but most of the text is hidden (white) and misplaced.

the same pdf is correctly read on the feisty live CD. (Evince 0.8.1)

hi all,
im still having this problem in jaunty,
some pdfs show arabic while some not.
and the same pfd won't show arabic in a fresh karmic install.
what should i do?

hi,
this is an attachment of the screenshot from the pdf. the place is white where the arabic texts should be.
the original pdf im referring is 30 mb and thousands of page. please forgive me that im unable to rip a few pages of it to put here.

output.pdf does not render the arabic text properly even with Adobe Reader 9.2 (linux) or Adobe Acrobat (Windows). Attached is a page that can be used for testing (page7.pdf). Using Adobe Reader 9.2 (linux) the arabic renders properly. Using Evince, or even Okular, the results are the same as the screenshot provided in comment #7.
