Lack of language-selector-gnome accurs wrong language settings in Ubuntu 16.04 GNOME

Ubuntu 16.04 GNOME doesn't contain language-selector-gnome package
Thus it makes wrong language settings and lack of input method
please, see the screenshot

If the team is willing to drop this language-selector-gnome package
then you need to prepare for these packages in other way

for KOREAN)
language-pack-gnome-ko
fcitx-hangul

other allocated packages would be installed automatically follow those two packages

I think that it will happen to most of Asian Nations.

Thanks for your report.

In 16.04, fcitx is the default framework for Asian input methods, and it's Mozc (fcitx) which is made available by default when you install Korean.

However, if you didn't select Korean in the installer, you probably need to switch from ibus to fcitx to make the Mozc option visible in the UI. You can do that by opening a terminal window and run the command

im-config -n fcitx

Then, next time you log in, Mozc ought to be available.

Is it a possibility to make this switch via a UI you would like to see?

The point of this bug report is Xenial GNOME missed language pack and input method for its region and nations by default.

1)
I installed it in Korean , but it doesn't show me Korean as you can see it in screenshot.
thus, I checked its language packages and I found that
Korean language pack was missed
it used to be installed by default as it always did until current release versions (15.10)
but in 16.04 language pack was missed by default

* language-pack-gnome-ko

2)
Input method was missed also
Ubuntu used its default input method as fcitx-hangul for Korean
but it is not installed by default

for those issue , I checked and found that
Ubuntu GNOME doesn't contain language support by default from the version 15.04
but, Ubuntu Unity has it.

Ubuntu treat this language stuff in language support wholey as one process.
For example, In case of Korean,
To install Korean(한국어) in language support, it will install
language-pack-gnome-ko with all other allocated language packges and input method fcitx,fcitx-hangul in one process.

but Ubuntu GNOME doesn't have this language support (language-selector-gnome)
so this bug happens.

solution for this issue is
* adding a language support in Ubuntu GNOME
* or Ubuntu GNOME 16.04 contains proper language packages and input method by default.

Language support in the installer is exactly the same for Ubuntu and Ubuntu GNOME, we don't touch anything there. Did you have an internet connection when you installed, I am not sure if all language packs are included on the cd images.

As for language-selector-gnome, that is just a UI to install language packs after install is complete, we don't need this since
we have integrated basic UI into gnome-control-center to install language packs, via:
region panel -> Language -> click the last row, that allows you to install language packs (and should pull in the other required bits)

I think this issue was from it the Ubuntu missed the proper language pack for their regions.
even after the fresh installation, I need to install language package in manual by terminal
$ sudo apt install language-pack-gnome-ko

but , in case of input method, Should it be installed manually too?
anyhow I did it, because it was not installed by default
$ sudo apt install fcitx fcitx-hangul

the point of this issue is this.
we dont' have proper language pack by default but other improper language packs were installed instead of proper language pack.
in my case , it was Korean.

seen from above, I think this issue was strongly related to this issue
