Bug Description

Woke up to find my krillin retail device on OTA-7 battery almost dead. I unplugged it when I went to bed last night, so it discharged completely in ~10 hours.

ssh'ed in and found mediascanner consuming some CPU time (I haven't changed the media on the device for some time). Checking the logs (attached) it looks like this has been happening for days. Due to UOS and other things I've not used this phone much over the past week, so it's juts been sat there dying until I plug it in.

mediascanner log attached. I don't think this is bug 1508142 because I checked and I have no webm files on the device, and it doesn't seem to be scanning, just starting and dying.

same here with arale rc-proposed, had 60% before going to sleep. i caught mediascanner a couple of time eating the battery for no reason.

From popey's logs

Volume /media/phablet/4332-3D21 was mounted.
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::runtime_error'
  what(): UNIQUE constraint failed: media.id

Then mediascanner restarts 3 times per second.

It is similar to Tafari's logs in bug 1508873

Alan's log makes this look like a dupe of bug 1501990, which was fixed in the 0.108 release so will be fixed in OTA-8. Installing the latest rc-proposed image should verify if this is the case. It should automatically fix up your existing media database, so there is no manual changes necessary.

@dinamic6661: This fix should already be in rc-proposed, so if you are still seeing it and have mediascanner2.0 version 0.108 installed, please file another bug and include the log file.
