cant change to external monitor on my Asus m6800n

Bug Description

cant change to external monitor when im pressing the button nothing happends.

my laptop is an asus m6800n.

i found this on an m6n forum

What kind of graphics device does your laptop have? Please provide complete
information about your hardware and attach /var/log/Xorg.0.log, assuming this
problem still exists

Where can I attach the file(/varlogXorg.0.log)??Just posting it here??

To post a log file lik Xorg.O.log, just click on "Add attachment" link on the left hand side of the web page of this bug report.

Two questions for you:

On this laptop is the button a hardware button or a software button. That is does it produce a keycode. You can see if it produces a keycode by trying to set the button to a task in gnome in the keyboard settings.

Second question: Is there any way you could test this in Edgy so we could see if the upgraded Xorg and kernel have somehow fixed this.
