Bug Description

I just followed the SDK template "QML App with C++ plugin (qmake)" template, and I created a simple template app without doing any change.

The app can be running on the desktop, however, it cannot be deployed onto a real phone target.

It complains "Desktop file does not exist".

I tested it on 15.04, and my phone image is 15.04 as well. The SDK is the latest one from the ppa as described in the developer website.

liuxg@liuxg:~$ dpkg-query -W ubuntu-sdk qtcreator qtcreator-plugin-ubuntu qtcreator-plugin-ubuntu-common
qtcreator 3.1.1-0ubuntu9
qtcreator-plugin-ubuntu 3.1.1+15.10.20151018-0ubuntu1~0vivid1
qtcreator-plugin-ubuntu-common 3.1.1+15.10.20151018-0ubuntu1~0vivid1
ubuntu-sdk 1.221

Best regards,
XiaoGuo

Same problem for me. Affects both "QML App with C++ plugin (qmake)" and "QtQuick App with QML UI (qmake)". However, "QML App with C++ plugin (CMAKE)" works.
