When I select a podcast to download it states that it is qued for downloa d but doesn't down load.

I think this is because the max number of podcasts to downloading setting has a max limit of 10. I believe that this is a hard limit of 10 cached across all Podcasts :-(

However, I suspect that if that limit were changed or raised, say for example max 10 episodes per podcast feed, then this would required Podbird to support using SD card as it's storage. This is not implemented yet

We haven't hardcoded a max limit of 10 in Podbird. We do provide a setting to "Autodownload new episodes" on app-startup which provides options from None to 10. However that setting option does not apply to this bug report where the user is trying to download a podcast manually.

There are several ideas that could have caused this issue,

1. It could be that someother app was downloading files which caused Podbird's downloads to be put on hold. You can find more details about this at the upstream bug at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-download-manager/+bug/1555561

2. The podcast you were trying to download could have had an invalid url

Please check if the above 2 factors may have caused the bug.
