Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

After a boot, and logging into the screen, NetworkManager takes several minutes of spinning to successfully get a wireless connection. Occasionally, it gets none at all, but reselecting the correct wireless connection from the drop down fixes it.

These several minutes of spinning happen on every boot.

My wireless card is an ralink chipset PCI wireless card.

there are new packages in my ppa:

0.6.5-0ubuntu16~ppa3 ...

please test if those are better.

It's a different diagnosis with those packages.

The nm-applet spins for about a minute, before displaying the exclamation mark notification and no network. At that point, I can click on the applet, choose the wireless network it should have been connecting to, and it will connect in a few seconds.

The second part is fine, the minute or so of pointless spinning is not.

This also happens to me, but after much trail and error, if I wait5 seconds to key in my username and password, NM finds the right network and is quick!
