Bug Description
once again libavcodec-dev depends on libavcodec-ffmpeg56 but does not allow libavcodec-
(it should have a OR dependency)
that result in the situation where you can either develop or hear sound but not both
the bug does happen before and again but it seems it does happen again with each Ubuntu release

I assume from your information that you just upgraded to the latest Ubuntu Studio release (15.10). Can you confirm?
It would be easier if you used ubuntu-bug to report bugs as it automatically attaches all this information (versions etc.) to the bug: /wiki.ubuntu. com/ReportingBu gs
