Bug Description

I have a Toshiba R20 tablet pc that uses a Wacon Pen. It was working perfectly before I updated to Gusty, now it's completely dead.

I have all the updates issued so far installed.

Did you update your xorg.conf, too? Please check it, by default the wacom-parts are still written, but commented out.

Gert,

I had to make a dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg because after enabling my second screen, I wasn't able to start the system again.

I have checked my xorg.conf, there are no commented parts.

I was facing many problems after the upgrade, so I decided to make a clean install. It didn't help, the stylus still isn't detected by Ubuntu.

Uncommenting the final lines on the xorg.conf file (the ones that say uncomment if you have a wacom tablet) makes it work.

That's a valid bug. Users aren't supposed to manually edit system files. This is also a regression from Feisty, and not documented by Ubuntu (no mention of this in release notes).

This bug still happens on Ubuntu 8.04 (and it's a regression!!)

looks like they got it right this time, besides Bug #188787. Path provided in the bug made it work out of the box for me.
