thinkpad x250 cracking sound on start

Bug Description

Since the upgrade to the wily beta from vivid I get a cracking sound each time the first sound is played (e.g. the starting sound) on my Thinkpad X250.
This did not happen with Ubuntu Vivid.

Looks like this may be caused by kernel change to improve power saving.
