It would be very usefull to have, for midi scripting, a zone of text available in the skins in order to display messages.
Those messages can be some particular status information not avilable in skins (like the current loop length selected by a knob, when the loop is disabled, a status like the loop mode (normal or roll), etc...) or even greeting message,etc...

In fact, it is like custmizing a skin for some specific controller mapping features.

I was tempted to suggest a similar feature when I was mapping my Electrix Tweaker, but I realized that it would be a better idea to add the feature I wanted to implement into Mixxx for everyone to use with any hardware. I think if this scripted display was implemented, mappers would use it for quick hacks to implement features rather than adding to Mixxx.

I think the use cases for this have been taken care of by https://github.com/mixxxdj/mixxx/pull/1187 (Bug #1429331).
