[gutsy] no taskbar displayed when desktop effects are turned on

Bug Description

Hello,

I'm using a Lenovo 3000 C200 laptop computer with Ubuntu Gutsy Beta upgraded from Ubuntu Feisty Fawn.

When I ask for desktop visual effects, the taskbar is no more displayed each time I log into my account for a new user session.

I must always click on the desktop background wallpaper to get the taskbar displayed back again, as if the visual effects were hiding the taskbar when the desktop window has no focus on it (which I think is the default state when starting a new user session).

Would it be possible to fix this problem ?

Thank you for all, guys.

I have this issue from a clean install. It's the 64bit version of Ubuntu Gutsy Release Candidate. I installed with the alternate CD.

This is a known bug, present in the Release Candidate iso images. Please install all updates of compiz so that you have the version 1:0.6.0+git20071008-0ubuntu1 of package compiz-core. Have a look at the master bug 147943 (duplicate) for more info.
