Bug Description

The screen brightness cannot be changed via the shortcut keys provided nor through the system setting menu.

This bug is missing log files that will aid in diagnosing the problem. From a terminal window please run:

apport-collect 1502630

and then change the status of the bug to 'Confirmed'.

Open the terminal and follow the steps listed below:

1)sudo touch /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf

2)sudo gedit /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf

3)Type the following lines

Section "Device"
        Identifier "card0"
        Driver "intel"
        Option "Backlight" "intel_backlight"
        BusID "PCI:0:2:0"
EndSection

4)Save the file

5)Log out and then login

Faraaz Ahmed, to advise, what you just posted is not a patch as defined in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment/Patches .
