Bug Description
In very fresh Gutsy I see this strange thing: when I click the red Log Out button on the top Gnome menu bar the desktop hangs -- window with log out options does not appear and I cannot click anywhere. The only way out is Ctrl-Alt-Backspace to kill xorg and return to gdm.
I have desktop effects switched off.

confirming the but... have the exact same problem
someone suggested it was linked to hal if i was getting any errors related to it during boot, but that is not he case
know a couple other people who are facing the same issue
