[ASUSTeK X555-50] Brightness hotkeys do not produce evdev event

The brightness can be changed through commands, however the brightness keys fn+f6 (brighter) and fn+f5 (dimmer) are not detected by acpi_listen, thus the hotkey functions do not activate.

Please install the "evtest" package and run "sudo evtest". Pick your keyboard, press the two brightness keys, and copy&paste the entire output here. Please also annotate the output so that I can see which key press triggered which output.

Finally, please include the output of "cat /sys/class/dmi/id/modalias".

None of the keypresses related to brightness returned any response.

Please run this again and select the "Asus WMI hotkeys" device (number 10 in your previous output). I'm fairly sure the brightness keys are on that, not on the "AT Translated Set 2 keyboard".

fn+f5 and fn+f6 still produce no output. My function keys do seem to be split over both the Asus WMI Hotkeys and AT Translated Set 2 keyboard devices...

None of the 13 event devices provide any output when pressing the brightness keys specifically.

Thank you. This needs to be fixed in the kernel driver then, as without a scan code there is nothing we can do in userspace.
