Bug Description

I'm using Acer Aspire Nitro VN7, the touchpad works perfectly, for some time. After some amount of usage or just randomly, some weird behaviour starts to occur.

I have disabled the tap to click feature and it's disabled like it's supposed to be, xev doesn't register any inputs as well, but somehow with some of the applications, the tap to click is actually working. Like for an example, switchboard, cursor is on the title bar, i tap once, the window gets maximized. Also the state is somehow saved, like the cursor is pressed even after i remove the finger from the touchpad. I also tried Ubuntu 15.04 and it looked like there was no such bug, not sure, if it's elementary software related at all or not...

Edit: Also noticed that when this weird behaviour starts, I actually click on one of the wingpanel indicators, it automatically closes, have to click and hold and when i release the button, it registers again as click, no idea what's going on here...

Edit2: Restarted lightdm and now things work again, as expected...

I finally figured out what might be causing this. When i have the 'tap-to-click' disabled and for example I open the Desktop plug from switchboard and select the wallpaper with tap, nothing happend, which is correct, but when i tap and hold and then tap with second finger, the click is actually triggered.

But the weird case is that this magical click does not work everywhere, in some places it does (like in the desktop plug) and in some places it doesn't. Another example that I can bring is in the Files, in the left sidebar. I move my cursor over some location, do the same thing, tap (nothing happens), tap again and hold and tap with second finger, then the location becomes active (or at least in the left sidebar, it looks like selected), but the actual files in the right, don't change. When I release fingers, the active state goes back to the previous location.

I also tried to disable scrolling or make it scroll in the edge, but that didn't help anything.
