Fails to run since gmenu has been removed from Debian

Recently, the "gmenu" python bindings have been removed from Debian (I haven't checked the Ubuntu situation). It might be possible to use the "matemenu" module from the "python-mate-menu" package instead, but simply replacing "import gmenu" with "import matemenu as gmenu" doesn't seem to suffice.

Since its removal from Debian, python-gmenu will be removed from Ubuntu too (probably in wily+1).
It may be possible to migrate to python-gi + gir1.2-gmenu-3.0.

I have considered packaging classicmenu-indicator for Debian, but LP: #1289801 and LP: #1374557 are blockers for me.

I'm currently porting classicmenu-indicator to Python3, Gtk3 and PyGObject. v0.10 will not use python-gmenu any more.
