Open new windows in tabs by default

Bug Description

I think it would be better for new users to have the
"browser.tabs.showSingleWindowModePrefs" option in the "about:config" page set
to "true" by default. By this way, the user will be able to chose whether he
wants or not that new windows open in a new tab. Now, if one wants to do that,
he must go to the "about:config" page and set up by hand the option.

eh? Preferences -> Advanced -> Tabbed Browsing; the default is to open in new
windows by default.
Is this not what you're asking for? If not, what's the difference?

I think I've badly expressed myself (sorry, I'm spanish). I say that with a
just-installed mozilla-firefox package, a webpage can open a new window (in the
desktop). For example, go to http://www.elmundo.es and click on the first big
ad. This will open in a new window. But if the
"browser.tabs.showSingleWindowModePrefs" option is set to "true" and you have
selected in Edit->Preferences->Advanced->Tabbed browsing the "Force links that
open in a new window to open in:" to "a new tab", the ad I've mentioned will
open in a new tab, and not in a new window.

The thing you have mentioned applies to links that open from other applications.

I hope I've been clear now :)

I'll possibly recheck for the next release.
