Bug Description
In Mythbuntu (currently using 14.04.3), during installation, I selected 'Chinese (Traditional)' as the UI language and 'Hong Kong' as the location, so the LANG env variable is zh_HK, but MythTV does not automatically set its UI language according to the language settings of the OS. MythTV should be able to detect the OS's language settings, so maybe it is intialized before language info is available?
Also, as not all languages supported by Ubuntu are also supported by MythTV, please setup a 'fallback' mechanism. For instance, please make MythTV to use zh_TW if Ubuntu is set to, but fallback to use zh_HK if it is not available.

Yeah, this is an upstream bug with MythTV. It would be best if you filed it with the upstream MythTV bug tracker so that upstream developers are notified and can work on it (patches will be welcome too).
Once you've filed a bug upstream, you can notate it here and we can link the two bugs together.
