Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

The package xserver-xorg-video-intel (installed version version 2:2.1.1-0ubuntu5) is missing changelog.gz and changelog.Debian.gz in its /usr/share/doc directory. I checked the debian sid packages and they actually have the changelogs.

I noticed this while trying to find out why my laptop suddenly started to fail suspending and suspected a recent -intel driver upgrade.

Yes, thats true. It seems like in the debian/rules file the dh_installchangelogs command is commented out.

Thanks; I'll try to remember to fix this the next time we update -intel. Don't know why that'd be commented out (maybe someone tried trimming space on the live cd??)

I think it is rather related due to build errors once encountered by the packager, not investigating the consequences of the changes: the affected line reads:

# dh_installchangelogs ChangeLog

but there is no longer an upstream ChangeLog file in the orig.tar.gz file. So you'll have to remove the ChangeLog statement after dh_installchagelogs command, otherwise the build will fail.
