[Gutsy] Update-Manager "cupsys" update failed to install

Update to Gutsy of Oct.4, 2007 fails to install "cupsys". Error message reads:

E:/var/cache/apt/arcives/cupsys_1.3.2-1ubuntu4_i386.deb:trying to overwrite '/user/share/doc/libcupsys2/CREDITS.txt', which is also in package libcupsys2

I also received a "lightening bolt graphic" in the systray which indicated that cupsys had crashed at some point; I guess, during the update.

This is meaningless to me and I can't install this package from update-manager, nor will it go away. There should be a check box in update-manager to remove packages which won't install correctly so that a fix can be issued.

same issue . i even tried deleting the file it wants to overwrite still same problem

I am also experiencing the same problem. Here is the complete apt-log:

There seems to be a deadlock between the libcupsys2 and cupsys packages. I'd give this bug a "high" priority, since it breaks further upgrades.

I've got the same problem. I noticed Ubuntu did more packeging failures in the last time.

cupsys_1.3.2-1ubuntu7 for me, not ubuntu4

le sous-processus pré-installation script a retourné une erreur de sortie d'état 1
