Bug Description

I wrote about it before - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1391908

Recently I upgraded my system from Xubuntu 14.10 to 15.04 and the bug returned. The problem is that from time to time without an obvious reason the whole system freezes. After that I can reboot the system only via the power button.

I have the log after the last freeze (attached).

WORKAROUND: 1. sudo nano /etc/default/grub
2. There is a line in that: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" (like this), replace with: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash intel_idle.max_cstate=1"
Save it (CTRL+O)
3. sudo update-grub
4. sudo reboot

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.2 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

I'm very sorry but I can't test the upstream kernel because I can use only a wireless internet (with the upstream kernel Wi-Fi doesn't work).

Recently I've tried to use this instruction - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1511019/comments/8

If it will be unuseful, I capture it after a new freeze.
