Bug Description
Symptom:
When shutting down Ubuntu Gutsy the login screen is shown for a split second before the actual shutdown. Even the dum-dum login sound is played as if the system has just started up. This makes the whole shutdown experience too cluttered. I even feel like logging in again when I see the login prompt :)
Just some thoughts:
This is probably happening because a user is first logged out and then the system shutdown takes place. I think the logout/switch user/shutdown mechanism should be able to recognize which of the processes is being carried out and not show the login screen when system shutdown is in progress.
Thanks.
