opening gimp-ubuntu-splash.xcf from "Places/Recent Documents" fails. Opening from within the examples dir opens correctly with Gimp. 7.10

Bug Description

I forgot to add that this happens with Gutsy 7.10.

If I open gimp-ubuntu-splash.xcf from within the examples dir, it opens in Gimp. If I try to open from "Places/Recent Documents" I get:

Could not open recently used document "file:///home/feisty/Examples/gimp-ubuntu-splash.xcf"
Could not find a suitable application.

Edited summary to replace reopening with opening as I feel opening is the better word. January 19, 2008

Hi, I would like to say I just tested this again and the problem is still present. This time I tested by creating a .xcf file and then trying to open it from within my home directory it opens in Gimp but not from the gnome recent documents. If this is something that can't be fixed then perhaps maybe the .xcf file can be prevented from showing up in recent documents?

Tested on 7.10

I have exactly the same problem with a pdf file and googling the faillure message showed that many people have this issue with different kind of files, like odt for example. I run Gutsy 7.10 but I 've found complains about this problem from 2006. Thus I suppose it isn't a Gutsy specific problem. Please, someone should fix the problem or report it upstream.
