Bug Description

Sharing desktop between 14.04 and 15.04 is impossible due to incompatible synergy versions (1.4.x vs 1.6.x)

To track down the issue, here is what you see in the logs when connecting from vivid's synergy (1.6.2) as a client to trusty's synergy (1.4.12) as a server:

WARNING: failed to connect to server: incompatible client 1.4

I was a bit annoyed, so I backported the package: ppa:anisse/synergy . It's not a good packaging, and it's for amd64 for now. I hope it might help.
