Bug Description

To reproduce install a wily vm of ubuntu-mate in kvm with virt manager a spice display server and a vmvga graphics. The install will complete and then in the vm run mate-display-properties to try to change the screen resoultion. mate display properties will bring up a display called default and appear to open a window for a moment and then disappear as a segmentation fault.

mate-control-center:
  Installed: 1.8.3+dfsg1-2

Description: Ubuntu Wily Werewolf (development branch)
Release: 15.10

I expected mate-display-properties to launch a window letting me change my screen resolution of the virtual machine. Instead everytime I launched mate display properties I got a segmentation fault. I was able to succesfully change screen resolution of the virtual machine by installing arandr.
