Bug Description

Enhancement needed: When you import a record from OCLC via z39.50, it should set your holdings on that record in OCLC but it doesn't.

Here is an article from the Code4Lib Journal that documents the use the the OCLC API's to perform a reclamation project from St. Olaf, Northfield MN (Go MN!)

So it looks like there is an API for automating OCLC holdings additions and deletes. Maybe there could be an action trigger reactor for OCLC integration. Triggered on new copy creation somehow, and last copy in an OU or decedents for deletes.

Would love to see this implemented as soon as possible. It's been much harder to keep our holdings in sync since joining Evergreen.

For those looking for OCLC holdings update solutions - tsbere has shared the system that MVLC uses to track OCLC number adds and deletes. This system works for an evergreen install that only reports one holding code for everyone. This tracks all OCLC numbers that get added or deleted to the system.

I'm going to attempt to modify it so it handles multiple institutions so it will work for us.

This would be a very helpful feature, especially if we could set up rules for what things get added to OCLC and which don't. For example, we don't loan certain media via OCLC ILL, so we simply don't add them to our OCLC holdings (so we don't have to spend staff time rejecting requests for those items).
