Thank you for sending your problem.

Could you give us the name and the version of the Linux distribution you are using right now?
Also, does your computer have internet restrictions (i.e proxy restrictions)?

Please send us also the screenshot when you are downloading repositories.

I am trying to update repositories for ubuntu 11.04 .

And Cube server is running on Mozilla Firefox which in turn is installed on Windows7 ultimate.

I am a beginner-user, so can you please give me steps for removing :-
Internet Permissions (ie. Proxy Permission), on Windows 7 Ultimate.

Sorry I can't post any screenshots, because it's happening too fast on Cube Server; it shows as it is downloading, but the downloading finishes quick and then it asks to update system, but when you check then you see that it has actually not downloaded any repository.

You can't even search for new packages and softwares while on net.

Besides I have tried to use Cube-Application also (besides Cube-server).
Error while downloading is :-
Could not parse URL.

Please give me steps to remove Proxy Permission.

I will try again and reply to you.

Thanking You.

Please disregard my previous comment.

In one of your messages, you said that "I am trying to update repositories for ubuntu 11.04".

Ubuntu 11.04 is no longer supported (End of life).
http://fridge.ubuntu.com/2012/09/17/ubuntu-11-04-natty-narwhal-reaches-end-of-life-on-october-28-2012/

Because of this, you can no longer update your repositories and install updated software. This is also the reason why Cube always fail to download new repository lists.

I suggest that you upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04 or 14.04. These are long term support (LTS) versions that are supported up to 3 years, if im not mistaken.

Thanks a lot for the solution.
I also have Ubuntu 12.10.
Can I try it, and update it's repositories ?
Has it not reached it's "End Of Life" ?
Upto how many years do you think it is supported?

Thanking You.

Ubuntu 12.10 is no longer supported also. You can check the Ubuntu release table in the below link to find the versions that are still supported.

I really recommend you to use the Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, which is supported until April 2019 (5 years support). It is also the latest long term support (LTS) version. The next LTS version will be released on 2016.

Thanks a lot for your support and help.
I will now try to update the repositories for Ubuntu 14.04, using Cube.
I will let you know if any further problem strikes.
Thanks again.

Besides, can you suggest me that should I use Cube-Server or, normally Cube-Application?
Which one is more beneficial, and how?

I suggest that you use Cube Server. Cube Server is more updated and stable than the Cube application. We had stopped the development of Cube application due to compatibility issues between different Linux distributions and versions. We are now focusing on developing Cube Server to fix these problems and to provide more stable Cube.

Thanks a lot.
Now I am able to download repositories for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, as adviced using Cube-Server and it is going smoothly.
But, I have a question.
I am a basic user and wants to install only VLC. Media Player and WineHQ.
I have downloaded repositories, but is it, really that important (REALLY-IIMPORTANT) to update packages, using cube that are outdated.
I want to clarify here that I am not into developing or something else.
I just need Ubuntu to play some of my videos and some basic use only.
So does it becomes really important to Update-Packages?
Also for basic use?

Thanks.
Everything worked with Cube-Server and Ubuntu14.04LTS., as adviced.
But I have a question.
Since, I am a basic user and wants to install software packages like VLC Media Player and WineHQ, does it really becomes that important to "Update Packages", that are outdated.
I am not into developing or anything.
Just wants some basic use out of my OS.
I have downloaded repositories as adviced, but does updating packages is important too even for a basic user.
Thanking You.

Yes. Updates may contain additional features, bug fix or security patches and it is good to maintain your packages up-to-date. For a basic user, I think you can update your packages anytime you want. But if you are using a newly installed Ubuntu, I really recommend that you update first all of the outdated package before doing other things.
