Bug Description
I installed Gutsy on Darter ultra 2 laptop from Systems76. I notice that the screen dims sporadically. It doesn't matter if the computer is is plugged in or not. I also noticed that as soon as the screen dims the Gnome power manager icon disappears. It sometimes returns to normal and again when in does the power manager icon comes back.

sounds like the "Dim display when idle" option?
System -> Preferences -> Power Management -> Uncheck "Dim display when idle" in both AC and Battery tabs.
if this fixes it, change the bug status to "Invalid"
