MAAS Nodes cannot connect to port 5240/MAAS/ws

Bug Description

I am running MAAS 1.8.0+bzr4001-0ubuntu2~trusty1 on a fresh install of ubuntu 14.04.3. When I connect to the MAAS web server the NODES link generates the following error message: Unable to connect to: ws://maas.cc.andrews.edu:5240/MAAS/ws.

I was clearing my MAAS servers so I could try a new openstack install, when I got this error. I cleared the system and reinstalled from ISO and still get the same error without anything configured in it yet.
