Wrong file permissions after installation

Bug Description

OS: Linux Mint 17.2 "Rafaela" Cinnamon 64-bit

Problem: several files, which in my opinion should be owned by root.root, are instead owned by my the account with uid=1001.

This problem was discovered running "find / -user <the name of the user with uid=1001".
