Bug Description

Had issues logging in to any account using the visual desktop environment (I would input correct password and it would remove the accounts choices and look like starting a log in, then screen would go black for a few moments, then back to the login page), but accounts all log in fine from terminal and ssh. Tried several installations in single user mode that resulted in something like:

Errors were encountered while processing:
fglrx
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

eventually I'm able to log in in the visual environment again after many attempts; I think what did it was:

rm ~/.Xauthority

Upon logging in received a ton of 'system problem has been detected; do you want to report?' prompts; this is one of them (or all of them combined?), lost track. Sorry not more helpful, not sure what's going on. Seems to be functioning now just popping up some notices like these.
