Bug Description
In some circumstances, it seems that the mysql guest tries to access the database before the password is reset. As a result, it creates and caches a connection to the database (SQLAlchemy) and so can never access the database with the new password.
It makes sense that the ENGINE cache should be cleared when the password is changed.
