Bug Description

Compiz-fusion works only in the following conditions :
- with Gnome (automatic setting no compiz --replace action necessary, with KDE without even trying compiz --replace no way to move quickly the windows making KDE unusable),
- with " fglrx" proprietary driver (no way with free drivers "radeon" or "ati" though "radeon" works fine with Feisty,

In these conditions some extra plugings like the geras inside the cube do not work but this is less important.

This is with :
- a X300 PCI express Radeon video card,
- compiz 1:0.5.2+git20070928-0ubuntu1
- xorg-driver-fglrx 7.1.0-8.37.6+2.6.22.4-12.4
- 64 bit AMD processor

With last update of Compiz :
- driver "radeon" works fine on Gnome on first session automatically set for Compiz (very fast cube + reflexion) but on quit and new Gniome session again Gnome is crashing reverting back to logging manager ; this may simply due to a extra motion not correctly supported

I am still puzzled between vitual horizontal size, virtual vertical size and number of desktops as it looks like that the horizontal size is adding more desktops !
- on KDE no way with radeon driver to properly set compiz even when usinh metacity or emerald

Sorry but I have to back-up on the statement saying that driver "radeon" worked fine because I had not rebooted my system when I reported this. Apparently with Compiz a simple reload of X server as an option of the logging application (such as gdm or kdm) is not enough.

A problem that I have noticed : if you install the proprietary driver with synaptic or with the special feature regarding proprietary drivers, the ati package is not removed though it is incompatible to get "fglrx" driver working properly at least in Gnome ; I think this should be fixed.

With last updates "fglrx" driver works both with GNOME and KDE but some modules like reflexion are working with KDE but not with GNOME. I will retest free "ati" or "radeon" drivers with both GNOME and KDE.
