Bug Description
To reproduce read /en/ch01s07.html in the documentation either on the server or lubuntu alterneate install image or in the installed files for the installation guide packe. It says the GPL but this seems to predate the existance of gpl v 2 and gpl v 3 so the documentation is vauge however in the package if installed does specifiy gpl v2 as current liscense installation-
Installed: 20100518ubuntu12
Candidate: 20100518ubuntu12
Version table:
*** 20100518ubuntu12 0
500 http://
100 /var/lib/
I expected the about to be specific about which license it this was released under. Instead the license is vague and only upon installing package and going to /usr/share/
The paragraph in question is "Many of the programs in the system are licensed under the GNU General Public License, often simply referred to as “the GPL”. The GPL requires you to make the source code of the programs available whenever you distribute a binary copy of the program; that provision of the license ensures that any user will be able to modify the software. Because of this provision, the source code[1] for all such programs is available in the Ubuntu system. "
I think this should mention it is v2.
