Denemo crashes at startup

Having just installed Denemo, I find that it crashes with a segmentation fault before any window is displayed.

Running with valgrind (new invocation without command-line arguments) does proceed, and the Denemo window is shown (though it runs terribly slow).

Upgrading to Denemo 1.2.4 from http://www.denemo.org/~aschneider/ solved the problem.
