Bug Description

Since upgrading on Ubuntu Gnome 15.04 from Gnome 3.14. to Gnome 3.16 I have noticed that on occasions, when I awake my machine from suspend, the screen will simply stay black, even though I press the power button on my laptop and it lights up and stops just flashing on and off, and I also hear my disk getting ready for action, or whatever the noise is I always hear when I awake my machine from suspend, my screen is still black, without even any back lights. And I am forced the power down the machine manually and restart.

Although that was in Gnome 3.14, the issue is still present in Gnome 3.16.

does this only happen in GNOME? sounds more like a gpu driver bug, than something GNOME specific.

@Tim, yes, I have been using Ubuntu for a long time now, and I have only recently switched to Gnome. And before I had Gnome, I had Unity, and nothing like this ever happened, and only started happening when I got Gnome.

This issue appears to occur though when I have left my machine suspended for many hours as you can see there in the log.
