Bug Description

Binary package hint: kde-systemsettings

kde-systemsettings provides a search box at the top; when entering any query, it tells me how many matches it found; it doesn't, however, highlight the matches in any way, making the search completely useless.

This is on Gutsy, updated today (I think this was also present in Feisty, but I can't confirm it right now).
The search works just fine in kcontrol.

Works just fine in Hardy. Are you still experiencing this issue?

Notice I did a search on user in the following attachment. If you look, the User Management is highlighted, and there is also the Login Manager under the Advanced Tab that is highlighted.

If you are referring to something different, please advise. Thank you.

This bug is still there in up-to-date Gutsy, but I can't comment on Hardy right now (no suitable box handy to test on).

KDE 3 System Settings showing search highlight. In KDE 3 it grays out all of the icons which do not match the search query.

KDE 4 System Settings showing search highlight. In KDE 4 it only shows the icon(s) that match the search query.

I just realized that I forgot to attach screenshots to my previous comment. Do you get similar results with Gutsy, or do your results not match the behavior in my screenshots whatsoever? Thanks!

This attachment shows how it looks on my desktop running current gutsy. A bit annoying, but not high priority, so I think it's OK if it is fixed in Hardy.

Reported fixed in Hardy. (And definitely fixed in Intrepid.)
