Bug Description

The Ubuntu Error Tracker has been receiving reports about a problem regarding gnome-panel. This problem was most recently seen with version 1:3.16.1-3ubuntu1, the problem page at https://errors.ubuntu.com/problem/81edb05866eb82b9890efd31c3276705387350d3 contains more details.

This is one of the most popular crashes for gnome-panel on errors.ubuntu.com, this is why I exported it here. It affects all versions from 12.04 to 15.10.

Do you know how to reproduce crash? Is this really gnome-panel bug? It looks like problem in gnome-menus...

Yes, this looks like a bug in gnome-menus. It probably needs some guards against null pointers.

According to errors.ubuntu.com, this is the most frequent crash on 15.10, with 44 occurences.
