Can't open attachments

Bug Description

After upgrading from Warty to 5.04 RC yesterday, I cannot open attachements
anymore. Neither double-klicking nor right-klicking -> open does anything, I
tried several different attachments. Saving the file worked, though. Opening
attachments worked flawlessly before upgrading.

After keeping on trying different things, I was able to resolve the problem
myself: After uninstalling a few extensions, which did not come through Ubuntu,
opening attachments works just fine. Therefore, this Bug should be considered
invalid.

have not added any extensions that didn't come through Umbuntoo and cannot open documents, account settings are coming up with heaps of xml parsing errors and preferences will not open at all. this below is what comes up when i try to find the version which should be the latest.

XML Parsing Error: syntax error
Location: chrome://messenger/content/aboutDialog.xul

This usually happens if a file is corrupted or you updated thunderbird and did not restart it.

Does it still happen after reinstalling thunderbird?
