Bug Description

In gutsy i've been unable to get sound working for my dell inspiron 1720.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It would be helpful if you could obtain the numeric PCI ID of the sound card. You can get this via 'sudo lspci -vvnn'. It would also be helpful to know the exact kernel version that you are running. You can find this out via 'uname -a'. Thanks in advance.
