Cannot open .tex files created by EqualX in EqualX

Bug Description
I am running the latest version of EqualX on a 64-bit Windows 8.1 machine using 32-bit Latex. I can create a file in EqualX and save it as a .tex file. When I try to open that file in EqualX using File > Open, I get the following error:
"Can not load file: <file_name_here>. Are you sure this file was created with EqualX?"
I click OK and nothing happens. This file was definitely created with EqualX (in fact, only just yesterday!).
