button +/6 volume not working in kubuntu

Bug Description

Binary package hint: kmix

on my sony-vaio vgn FE21H the +/- volume button do not work in Kde but do in gnome .
As i open totem then close it they begin to work , and the OSD volume bar appears !!

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 RC or later?
