Bug Description

Software center is not able to install MuseScore 2.0.2 it installs version 1 only.

As a matter of policy, the Ubuntu repository provides only security updates within a Ubuntu version. Thus, you will not see version 2 in the Ubuntu repositories.

However, you can get version 2.0.0 by adding a PPA. https://launchpad.net/~mscore-ubuntu/+archive/ubuntu/mscore-stable . There may also be a 2.0.2 PPA coming.

As VanillaMozilla said, packages in the Ubuntu repositories are never updated (except for security updates) to prevent compatibility issues between different versions of shared libraries, etc. However, MuseScore 2.0.2 is now available from the PPA https://launchpad.net/~mscore-ubuntu/+archive/ubuntu/mscore-stable
