Bug Description
Similar to Bug #1077930, but different.
SYSTEM INFO: Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon 64-bit on Dell Vostro 1500 laptop and Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon 32-bit in VirtualBox 4.3.28. Using the virtual box to check changes I want to make to my laptop. Due to intel video issues on the laptop w/kernel 3.16 (was not present in 3.13 Mint 17.1), I am using kernel 3.19 on both systems (running stable). I did the same process on both (virtual box first). I performed a fresh install instead of an upgrade to 17.2.
Menu -> Preferences -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts -> Add custom shortcut
Enter info into the Name: & Command: fields (I used xkill), and then select add. At this point Cinnamon seems to be frozen.
Ctrl + Alt + Esc did not allow functionality; Ctrl + Alt + Delete & log back in did.
My background reset back to the original (Linux Mint 17.2) & "Play backgrounds as a slideshow" was changed to off. When I went back to Menu -> Preferences -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts -> Add custom shortcut, the shortcut was listed and unassigned. I was able to assign it to Super-X. There may be other changes I am not aware of, please investigate.
The problem is that it froze Cinnamon, please investigate.
I am in the process of learning Linux; I do not yet know how to report in github if that is needed, and I do not know if this presents a security vulnerability.
Completely freezes and even after several seconds, does not become responsive?
I suffer from an issue where basically any change to the shortcuts causes a temporal freeze that lasts several seconds. Mouse cursor is function but nothing else.
